Snakes!?

We've had rain the last day or two, so the ground is very saturated. As Emily and I were out walking yesterday, she stopped suddenly and exclaimed, "Look Mom! A snake!" So we stopped to watch the earthworm scrunching his way across the sidewalk and talked about how they move and that they are good for the ground so we don't want to squish them. She now knows they are worms, not snakes and we have been having fun seeing them all over the place. Here is a picture of Emily engrossed in watching their activity this morning. They leave really good trails behind them in the dirt (you can somewhat see that there have been numerous worms at this sidewalk intersection in the last day or two.)
