Emily and I enjoyed some mommy-daughter time today. We played hookey from a regularly scheduled activity to do it, but it was the right thing for us. We went shopping and had chai. I find her to be such a joy to hang out with.
At the clothes store, we picked out a new dress for her to wear to a dinner tonight. She was excited to try it on in the dressing room. (I was glad she did try it on - she is a size up from what I guessed for summer clothes - at least for dresses in order for them to be long enough.) After our purchase, we went to a health food establishment and snacked on gluten-free peanut butter chocolate cookies (quite yummy, I thought!) and chai with soy milk. There's many fun foods we can eat on her diet. And this is such a great town to be in for alternative food options.
