The 6 & 4 Party

I put on a birthday party for Tyler and Emily together Saturday evening at my place. I am completely wiped out, but was worth it. From the feedback and responses I received, it seemed to be a success, thanks to all who attended. We had nine kids from ages 1-7 and a dozen adults. It was great that Jim, Shyree and Kaitlyn were able to come. The colors were navy blue and purple (which actually look rather good together. I like that color combo.) The helium shortage didn't keep us from enjoying helium balloons, my friend "Miss" Emily put her streamer decorating talents to good work, and with borrowed chairs (thanks Dave & Shannon and Shad & Crystal!) and some creativity, everyone had a seat. The food was entirely gluten, dairy and egg free, aside from some cheese I served with the GF crackers, so the three diet-special people in attendance could freely partake and others learned that "free" foods can taste good, albeit different. Special kudos to Mike for all the support, taking video and fantastic kitchen cleanup. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who came for creating the fun atmosphere, for participating (especially in the "who am I" game the adults played) and for enjoying themselves. Check out my picassa page for more pictures.
