The sign said, "Do not flush". Tyler was positive of it. He's been loving to read any and everything he can wherever he sees words he recognizes or can sound out. So when he and Emily were in restroom at a store today, he advised her to heed the sign. Out they both came, Emily announcing in a delighted fashion how odd it was to have toilet that one couldn't flush, so she hadn't. When Tyler came out we discussed that there were more words on the sign and that he stopped reading too soon. One must read the whole sign to obtain the full and correct meaning. After I reassured them that the sign was instructing people not to flush certain things beyond the "norm", Emily returned to complete the task she had previously left undone.
I love seeing the world through their eyes.
