Eddy - the pink flower

Eddy had a bath this morning. It was somewhat impromtu. Tyler had opened the door to the bathroom to ask me a question while I was showering and Eddy had run in then become trapped when Tyler closed the door. I had been thinking it would be good to introduce the kittens to being bathed, so when Eddy peeked his head into the shower, it seemed to me like no better time like the present. Especially since Eddy is a stinky little fellow. I would describe him as "all boy." He is rambunctious, daring, extremely curious, a little rough and has a look about him like a trouble-finder, if not maker. (I decided yesterday after seeing a BBC special that had some shots to bear cubs that he reminds me of a black bear cub. So I've extended his name to be "Eddy Bear" when I need more syllables. Plus it's kind of cute - "Tiger Cat" and "Eddy Bear") But I digress. . . since Eddy can be a little stinky, I decided to freshen him up and help him out on his hygiene a little. So I finished my shower and stopped the tub so a little water was in there, then lifted him in. He was expectedly resistant at first but his curiosity soon took over and I was able to scoop water onto his fur and scrub him a little. He dried off fine and the wet fur inspired him to groom himself all over to get his fur back to normal again. There is something downright hilarious looking about a soaking wet cat. But his is fluffy and good smelling now. . . such that when I asked the kids if they thought Eddy smelled better, they said, "Yes, he smells like a flower - like a pink flower."

I've always thought pink flowers smell better than yellow ones.
